Material Selection and Preparation
Depending on the project’s needs, we might use granular materials like sand and gravel or cohesive soils with high clay content. Each material type is carefully selected and prepared, considering moisture levels to achieve optimal compaction.
Sand Pad Construction
We supply, spread, and meticulously compact the sand, establishing a uniform and level pad. This pad forms the critical layer where other materials, like concrete or asphalt, will be laid.
Granular Soils
Often challenging due to their crumbly nature, granular soils like sand require careful handling. We use specific techniques to ensure these materials are compacted effectively, whether they’re wet or dry.
Cohesive Soils
With their high clay content, cohesive soils need to maintain a certain moisture level to compact properly. We adjust our approach based on the soil’s moisture content to optimise compaction without compromising the soil’s integrity.
Crusher Dust
Used commonly for surfaces under driveways and roads, crusher dust needs to be spread and compacted to create a solid base. We ensure it is evenly distributed and sufficiently moistened before compaction, using vibrating plates or smooth drum rollers to achieve the necessary density.
